Staff – Crossroads Child Learning Center

My name is Allison Nick and I am the Co-Director of Crossroads Child Learning Center. I have been working in the childcare field for 17 years. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Milligan University and a Director’s Credential from Lackawanna College. I grew up in Williamsport, but now live in Jersey Shore with my 3 cats Murphy, Maude, & Winnie! I love working at CCLC for many reasons. I think the culture of closeness and community that the teachers have made is truly special to be a part of. I also firmly believe that the first few years of a child’s life are critical to developing who they will become and making relationships with families who allow us to be part of such a special time in their children’s lives is amazing! In my free time I enjoy reading, watching movies, and spending time volunteering with my youth group and local church camp. I also really love to travel, and I want to see as much of the world as I can!

My name is Tabitha Whitman, and I am the Co-Director of Crossroads Child Learning Center. I have been working in childcare for 13 years. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from LHU and a Director’s Credential from Northampton Community College. I was born and raised in Jersey Shore. I have 2 sons; Tycen who lives in Salladasburg and Peyton who is attending LHU, and a daughter, Ysabelle who goes to the Jersey Shore Middle School. I live in Avis with my husband Jason, Ysabelle, and our dogs Luna & Nala. I have lots of favorite parts of working at CCLC. I think kids are so cool! I love watching them learn and grow! Getting to know all of the families is awesome as well. I don’t have much free time, as my kids keep me very busy. Peyton participates in track and field at LHU and Ysabelle is involved in basketball, track & field, and softball. I am the head coach for the Jersey Shore Middle School cheer squad and in the little free time I have, I love to read!

My name is Breanna Mumma and I am the Co-Head Teacher in the Infant Room. I have been working in childcare for 12 years. I have an Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting. My favorite part of working at CCLC is watching the children learn and grow. In my free time I enjoy reading and crocheting!

My name is Madison Rhea and I am the Co-Head Teacher in the Infant Room. I have been working in childcare for 3 ½ years. I enjoy working at CCLC because I love watching the children grow. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family.

My name is Amanda Welshans and I am the Co-Head Teacher in the Toddler 1 Room. I have been working in childcare for 22 years. I have my CDA, which is a Child Development Associates. My favorite part about working in childcare is watching the child learn and grow and seeing the excitement they have when they accomplish something new. In my spare time I enjoy being outside, going for walks, and spending time with family. I also love going to the beach!

My name is Elise Bodle and I am the Co-Head Teacher in the Toddler 1 Room. I have been working in childcare for 2 years. I live in Jersey Shore with my parents, sister, and my three pet birds Altair, Icarus, & Sally. My favorite part of working with children is watching them grow and learn new skills. When I am not working I like to read and hang out with my birds.

My name is Taylor Hyde and I am a Co-Head Teacher in the Toddler 2 Room. I have been working in childcare for 5 years. I have a 8-year-old daughter, who attends the Jersey Shore Elementary School. My favorite part about working with children is seeing them learn and grow! When I’m not at the center I can be found spending time with my daughter and my family.

My name is Madison Young and I am a Co-Head teacher in the Toddler 2 Room at CCLC. I have been working in childcare for 4 years. I live in Lock Haven with my two sons, Archie & Lennox. My favorite part of working at Crossroads is how welcoming the staff members are. They treat everyone like family as soon as you walk through the doors. One of my favorite things about childcare is the fulfillment I get from being the reason children can learn more about life and the world around them. I spend my free time going shopping, taking walks, and camping with my family!

My name is Abby McCaffrey and I am a Co-Head Teacher in the Preschool 1 Room. I live with my two cats in Jersey Shore. I have been working in childcare for 6 years and my favorite part of being a teacher is seeing my tiny friends every day! I am working towards my CDA (Child Development Associates) and hope to have it completed very soon. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with friends, playing video games, drawing, painting, and reading.

My name is Grace Emma and I am a Co-Head Teacher in the Preschool 1 Room. I have worked with children for many years, and am excited to be joining the team at CCLC! I have my CDA (Child Development Associates) as well as undergraduate degrees. My favorite part about working at CCLC is being able to work with my daughter Tabby, and spend time here with my granddaughter Lavender who attends the center. In my free time I can be found spending time with my family and my pets (dog Cindy, and cats Emily & Noodle), creating art collages, or enjoying a coffee!

My name is Meagan Fetzer and I am a Group Supervisor and Co-Head Teacher in the Preschool 2 Room. I have been working in childcare for 11 years. I have 2 Associate’s Degrees – one in Early Childhood Education and one in Secretarial Science. I grew up on a farm in Liberty, PA. I now reside in Jersey Shore with my husband, our three boys, and our baby girl. Our family also includes one giant handsome pooch and two pretty little kitties. I love working at Crossroads. Our work family consists of a pretty awesome crew. I love that we all genuinely care about our kids. Working with the kids can be challenging at times, but I love those littles like they are my own and being able to watch them learn and grow every day is very fulfilling and rewarding. I spend my free time with my family and friends. Our family enjoys board and card games together. There is nothing better than watching my oldest boy in his plays and musicals, my middle boy playing football, listening to my youngest boy and all his humorous stories and jokes, or my baby girl learning all the new things all the days. I enjoy escaping reality by enjoying a tv show, movie, or good book…and football. We love football! Go Steelers! Go Dogs!

My name is Nicole Wilk and I am a Co-Head Teacher in the Preschool 2 Room. I have been babysitting and volunteering with children for many years, and have been working in childcare for 2 ½ years. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. I grew up in Beech Creek and I have 2 daughters who attend CCLC as well! My favorite part of working at CCLC is watching the children learn and grow and seeing their accomplishments. I enjoy reading and spending time with my two girls. We try to take the weekends for family time. I also like to attend concerts in my free time!

My name is Emilie Titus and I am the Co-Head Teacher in the School Age Program. I have been working in childcare for 8 years. I grew up in the Valley, but have now moved to Montgomery where I live with my boyfriend Cameron, my two children, and his 3 children. Working in childcare has been amazing. I love watching the kids start here as babies and go on to graduate preschool and go off to kindergarten. The staff here are not only co-workers, but they have become a second family! In my free time I love watching my son play sports and watching my daughter learn new things. I really enjoy my lazy time binge-watching my shows and lifetime movies! I also love spending time with my family and best friends.

My name is Susan Green and I am the Cook at CCLC! I was born in Easton, Maryland and moved to Pennsylvania in 2003. I live in Jersey Shore with my husband and our 3 dogs, Desil, Baby, and Koda. I love being able to provide meals for the children at the center and the hugs I receive from them are priceless! The women and children at the Center are a blessing and show so much love. When I’m not working, I enjoy reading my Bible and spending time with my 2 grown daughters, and my 2 grandchildren.

My name is Lisa Titus and I am an Assistant Teacher at CCLC. I have been working with children for over 40 years between the Jersey Shore Area School District and CCLC. I am happily single and share my home with my 3 cats Aayla, JT, & Chandler. I also have two grown children, 4 beautiful grandchildren, and one more on the way! I have always loved working with kids, so you could say I’m working my dream job! In my free time I love being outside. I enjoy campfires and spending time with my fur-babies and grandkids. I love board games, cards, and hanging out with my friends and coworkers!

My name is Sarah Signor and I am an Assistant Teacher at CCLC. I have been working with children for 13 years. I have my CDA, which is a Child Development Associates. I am from Williamsport where I live with my parents, my two brothers, and our dogs Maui and Kona. My favorite thing about working at CCLC is watching the children grow and learn new things every day. I also love seeing them get excited over the smallest things that they do! In my free time I love to watch movies and hang out with family and friends. I’ve been getting into reading recently as well, and I can’t go a day without my coffee!!!

My name is Denver Shobert and I am an Assistant Teacher at CCLC. I have been working in childcare for 4 years. I am currently a Junior, working towards a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education at LHU. I live at home with my mom, my dad, my sister, and my dog Winnie. My favorite thing about working with children is watching them connect the dots as they play and learn new things. In my free time I enjoy reading, doing projects on the Cricut, baking, and hanging out with my boyfriend!

My name is Polly Nick and I am an Assistant Teacher at Crossroads Child Learning Center. I have been working in childcare for over 20 years. I am a mother of 5, a grandmother of 18, and a great-grandmother of 5! My favorite part of working at CCLC is getting the opportunity to nurture and guide little ones. Their honesty is refreshing, their laughter is contagious, and their unconditional love brings me joy! When I am not at the center I enjoy traveling and meeting new people. I love spending time with my family and opening up my home to them as well as their friends! I also enjoy gardening, sewing, listening to music, playing the piano, and reading.

My name is Ava Stroble and I am an Aide at CCLC. I have been babysitting for a few years, but have been working in child care for one year. I am currently a high school senior. I live with my parents and our 3 dogs and 3 cats in Jersey Shore. My favorite part of working at CCLC is the interactions I get to have with the children every day. My least favorite part is the cleaning (haha)! In my spare time I enjoy going on mountain rides, fishing, and hanging out with my friends.

My name is Madisyn Landis and I am a full-time Assistant Teacher at CCLC. I have spent a lot of time with children through babysitting growing up, but this is my first time working in childcare. Next year I plan to go to an esthetician school to work towards a certificate/license. I am originally from Roaring Branch, and I just recently moved in with my boyfriend and 2 cats. My favorite part about working with children is when they are excited to see me. When I’m not working, I love to read and shop online and at stores. I have a lot of plants that I love to take care of, and I spend a lot of time with my cats!

My name is Lucas Smithgall and I am a full-time Assistant Teacher at CCLC. Although I am new to the team, I have been working with children for almost a year now. I graduated high school in 2024 and I currently live in Oval. My favorite part about working with kids is how fun they are, and how you can always count on them to share their funny stories! In my free time I like to target shoot, play video games, lift weights, and play tennis.

My name is Clarissa Ilgen and I am a full-time Assistant Teacher at CCLC. While I am a mother, and have had many years of experience caring for children, this is my first time working in a child care center! I live with my boyfriend and between the two of us we are raising 5 children. My favorite part about working at CCLC is the people. I love the staff, the kids, and the parents! I like to clean and spend time with my kids when I’m not working. We are always taking them to do fun things!

My name is Ari Newlen and I am an Assistant Teacher at CCLC. I have been working at CCLC for almost 2 years and have been babysitting and volunteering with children at my church for over 5 years. I am currently working toward my Master’s in Athletic Training. I live in Mill Hall with my parents and our dog Daisy. My favorite thing about working with children is being able to nurture them and guide them towards becoming disciples of Jesus. In my free time I enjoy reading and spending quality time with the people I love.

My name is Emily Wendle and I am an Assistant Teacher at CCLC. I have been working with children for 2 years. I am currently in college working toward a bachelor’s degree in social work. When I’m not at college, I live in Altoona, PA with my mom, dad, brother, my cat Pumpkin and my dog Cosmo. My favorite thing about working with children is seeing their excitement. It makes me so happy! Watching them grow and learn new things is very rewarding. I spend my free time at the gym, playing basketball, and shopping with my friends.

My name is Tabby Dooris and I am a college student and an Assistant Teacher at CCLC. I have been working in childcare for 4 years. I am currently a student at LHU working toward a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I live with my 2 year old daughter, Lavender. My favorite part of working at CCLC is making a positive impact on children in a great work environment! When I’m not working or studying, I enjoy reading, art, and writing poetry.

My name is Arianna Milbrand and I am a college student and seasonal teacher at CCLC. I have been working in childcare for 5 years. I am working towards my Bachelor’s Degree and eventually my Master’s Degree in Education at LHU. I currently live at home and commute to college, but I may choose to live on campus in the future. My favorite thing about working with children is playing with them and all the hugs! In my free time I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, cuddling my dog, working at my church, and doing schoolwork.

My name is Megan Borowicz, and I am an Aide at Crossroads Child Learning Center. I have been working with children since 2020 and joined CCLC in2023. I am finishing my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (PreK–4)atCommonwealthUniversity (Lock Haven Campus)and willgraduate this December (2025). I have always loved working with children and building meaningful relationships with them. My favorite part about working at CCLC is watching the children grow, learn, and explore new things each day. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, being outdoors, shopping, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

My name is Maggie Keener and I am a seasonal teacher at CCLC. I have been working in childcare for 12 years and am currently a preschool teacher at the Head Start program in the Jersey Shore High School. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Early Childhood and Dance. I live in Lock Haven with my fiancée and my best friend! I love building relationships with my students and watching them grow and change throughout their time in my classroom. In my spare time I like to hang out with my friends, play video games, and go to concerts.

My name is Maille Fowler and I am a college student and seasonal teacher at CCLC. I have been working with children for quite some time and have been at CCLC for 3 years. I am currently a Sophomore at Shippensburg, majoring in Elementary Education. When I am not at school, I live with my mom, my dad, and my dog Bubby. My favorite things about CCLC are the staff and the way the kids treat me. In my free time I like to play softball, go camping, participate in school events, sing, and hang out with my friends.

My name is Brian Witner and I am a seasonal teacher at CCLC. I have about 10 years of childcare experience but have been working with kids in some capacity for 19 years. I have an associate’s degree in both Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management from Pennsylvania College of Technology. Currently, I’m working on getting my bachelor’s degree in business management, also from PCT. I reside in Jersey Shore with my wife, Samantha, and our 4 children Noah, Lili, Kayden, and Aurora. We have 4 dogs (Rubble, Apollo, Luna, and Zeus) and 3 cats (Sassy, Midget, and Onyx). My favorite thing about working with children is being able to teach them new skills, like cooking, that they can use when they get older. With 4 kids, most of my free time involves doing something with them. From taking the girls to dance practice, to coaching my youngest son’s football team. Recently, I got into hunting, so that is something I enjoy doing with my oldest son. When I do get “me” time I enjoy playing video games and watching movies/tv shows with my wife. I also volunteer with CKC (Crossroads Kidz Club) and have been volunteering at Spook Haven Haunted House for the last 18 years.

My name is Avery Nicholson and I am an Aide at Crossroads Child Learning Center. I have been working with children in different capacities for the past 4 years. I am currently attending LHU, working towards a masters of social work with a minor in child intervention specialist. I am from Akron, Ohio and live there with my family when I am not at school. My favorite things about working at Crossroad are the kind staff and the great kids! In my free time I enjoy playing college volleyball at LHU and helping to coach club volleyball at Horseshoe Volleyball Club.

My name is Emma Pfirman and I am a college student and seasonal teacher at CCLC. I have been working with children for 2 years. I am a Sophomore at Bloomsburg University, majoring in Early Childhood Education. I am originally from Rauchtown, but I currently live on campus in Bloomsburg with my best friend. When I am not at school, I live in Trout Run with my mom, her boyfriend, his two sons, 2 dogs, and 4 cats! My favorite thing about working at CCLC is the amazing atmosphere created here. Not only are the kids amazing, but we have great staff who all work well together to give the kids the best experience. My favorite parts of working with children are watching them grow, learn, make new friends, and get comfortable as life begins to become natural for them. In my free time, you can find me hanging out with my friends, pets, or family. I also love to be hiking outside and making pottery!

My name is Nadia Zimmerman and I am an Aide at Crossroads Child Learning Center. I have been working in child care for 4 years. I am originally from Schuylkill PA, but I currently live in Williamsport as I pursue a degree at PCT. I live alone with my dog, cat, and lizard! One of my favorite things about working with children is being able to watch children grow and learn new things. Seeing their creativity come out always makes me smile! In my free time I enjoy motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and graphic design.

My name is McKenna Runner and I am an Aide at Crossroads Child Learning Center. I have been working with children for two years, but this is my first time working in a child care center. I am a college student, working toward my BSN in nursing. I’ve lived in Jersey Shore since I was a baby, and I have a chocolate lab named Nova! My favorite part about working with children is watching them learn something new every day. In my free time I like to babysit my nephews and spend time with my friends.
